Registered Acupuncture (R.Ac)

Acupuncture is a type of natural healing practice promotes the balance and flow of energy through your body’s meridians. Traditional acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of energy and blood through the meridians that cover the body. It is believed that when the energy flows freely through the meridians, proper health is maintained.

Illness occurs when the body’s energy is imbalance or blocked. Acupuncture uses needling technique to unblock the flow of energy and blood. Acupuncture helps to restore the natural flow of blocked energy using specific acupuncture points on the body. When acupuncture points are stimulated, it helps to unblock these areas to resolve pain, improve immune system and restore the overall balance of the body.

While acupuncture is most well-known for its ability to relive pain, it is also commonly used to treat the following symptoms:

Headaches/ Migraines  Neck & Shoulder pain   Lower Back pain/ Knee pain Digestive disorder

Family Planning   Emotional disorders Depression   Stress and anxiety Sports Injuries

We OFFER Direct Billing

At Killarney Therapeutic Health, we are committed to providing the convenience of direct billing to your insurance provider whenever possible. However, there are circumstances where this may not be achievable, driven by various factors including, but not limited to:

  •   The insurance provider's requirement of a doctor's referral for claims approval.

  • The policyholder reaching their coverage limit (maximum amount).

  • The assignment of the day's claim for manual review by your insurance provider.

  • Specific plan restrictions that prevent direct billing to the provider, resulting in claim submission payable to the policyholder.

  • Technical issues with the direct billing portal.

Clients are responsible for the following:

  •  Understanding if a doctor's note is required before their initial appointment, as this information will be sent directly to the insurance company.

  • Identifying the limits of coverage and understanding the start and end dates of the benefits year.

  • Verifying that their plan allows for direct billing of these services and that the clinic can receive payment directly.

*For specific inquiries about your plan's coverage details, please contact your insurer directly.

In cases where direct billing is not a viable option, clients will be expected to settle their outstanding balance at the time of their appointment.

Please contact ICBC for more information prior to booking. Please call us to book your appointment and have the following information: ICBC claim number, Adjuster’s name and contact, Date of accident, Your personal health number, and Your date of birth.
